It is the 46th anniversary of Earth Day and now it is celebrated the entire month of April. Our health and the health of the earth are very closely related. Read on for tips to help you and the earth at the same time!
How our food is grown, raised, and prepared affects our environment and our bodies. Make your health a priority and only opt for the best nutrition! Get to know your farmer and buy local produce, meats, dairy products, and prepared foods. The food is fresher and higher quality. Buying locally also reduces your carbon footprint.
Living locally to our jobs and communities also affects our health and environment in similar ways. Being able to walk or bike to our jobs, schools, and running errands keeps us physically active and also reduces the amount of greenhouse gases that are emitted from vehicles.

When we take care of our neighbors and communities we are telling everyone that we care about where we live. Cleaning up a park, planting a garden, helping an elderly neighbor, or another community project can help us feel better about ourselves and our environment. It’s a great way to give back to the community and make someone else feel better too.
Most importantly, get outside and do something you like!
